Jean-Benoït Morin

Jean-Benoît Morin is Professor at the Faculty of Sport Sciences in the University Nice Sophia Antipolis (France), and a member of the Laboratoire Motricité Humaine Education Sport Santé (LAMHESS).
He obtained a PhD in Human Motricity in 2004 at the University of Saint-Etienne, co-supervised with the University of Udine in Italy, and a Certificate of Sports Educator in Athletics.
His research aims to improve the analysis of human locomotion and athletic performance, including the development and validation of theoretical models and methods that can be used in real-life practice.
His goal is to improve athletic performance (through more individualized and effective training) as well as the management of certain sports-related injuries (through a better understanding of risk factors, and an improvement of readaptation processes) .
The fields of application of this research currently include collaborations with sports structures of international level in France (French clubs and federations of athletics, rugby, volleyball, INSEP), and abroad (England, Spain, Italy , New Zealand, Japan, USA) around the jump and sprint performance. This research has also enabled the development and validation of smartphone applications for accurate performance analysis, with the aim of applying the above theoretical models and objectives to larger populations of athletes.

Dr. Morin participated at the XI International Symposium of Strength Training with the presentation entitled "FORCE AS A DETERMINANT OF SPORTS PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE … WHAT? HOW? WHY?".

Dr. Morin participated at the X International Symposium of Strength Training with the presentation entitled "FORCE-VELOCITY-POWER PROFILING FOR INDIVIDUALIZED TRAINING AND INJURY MANAGEMENT: INNOVATIVE CONCEPTS, FIELD METHODS AND APPLICATIONS".
