She is Specialist in Sport Medicine and Master Degree in Exercise Physiology (Universidad Complutense de Madrid). Dr. Pérez Ruiz is Full Professor at the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences - INEF of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). Her research activity since 2003 she have been working in the child and adolescent population and she study the usefulness of physical exercise as a therapy in chronic pathology. She was pioneer in the implementation in Spain of one of the first in-hospital gyms for the application of exercise within chronic pathology such as anorexia, respiratory disease, or cancer. She has received 12 National Awards from Sports Medicine by the Spanish Society of Sports Medicine (SEMED). Dr. Pérez Ruiz participated in the XIII International Symposium of Strength Training with the presentation entitled "STRENGTH EXERCISE AS AN ALLY IN THE TREATMENT OF CYSTIC FIBROSIS".
