Dr. Dusan Hamar
Full Professor in the Department of Sports Kinanthropology at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Comenius University (Bratislava, Slovakia).
He is Graduated in Medicine, Certificate Specialist in Internal Medicine, and Sports Medicine, and PhD in Sports Medicine from the Medical Faculty of Comenius University of Bratislava (Slovakia).
His professional interests include functional diagnostics, development of computer?controlled systems for assessing the functional status and trainability in athletes and patients (e.g. an isokinetic ergometer, a rowing and a paddling isokinetic ergometer, a treadmill with the monitoring of vertical reaction forces, gravity dynamometer, stabilographic system for functional balance assessment, etc.). In addition, he studies the strength training as a means for improving health and performance and the kinetics of cardiorespiratory parameters in different forms of loading.
He is a former chairman of the Scientific Committee of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (2002 ? 2010), a former member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (1994 ? 2002) and a vice?president of the Medical Commission of the International University Sports Federation (from 2001 ? present).

Dr. Hamar participated at the XI International Symposium of Strength Training with the presentation entitled "SERIAL STRETCH LOADING – A NOVEL APPROACH TO STRENGTH TRAINING".
